Healthier Glades 2-Day REI Training

  • Location – Belle Glade Civic Center
  • REI’s Phase 1 Workshop are designed to develop the capacity of participants to better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. This workshop presents a historical, cultural, and structural analysis of structural racism; understanding and controlling implicit bias; race, poverty, and place; markedness theory; institutional power arrangements and power brokers; importance of definitions of race and racism; history and legacy of race in American economic and policy development; racial identity and its interaction with institutional culture. With shared language and a clearer understanding of how institutions and systems are producing unjust and inequitable outcomes, participants should leave the training better equipped to begin to work for change.

EJS Project 4th Annual CommUNITY Block Party

  • The mission of the EJS Project is to build and empower tomorrow’s leaders. Please join us in celebrating by participating in the 4th Annual CommUNITY Block Party.  Taking place on Saturday, May 4th from 11 am-7 pm, it will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event with entertainment, information, music, and a marketplace of goods and services representing entrepreneurs within the Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade County area. We will have information on local resources, giveaways as well as performances by our local talented youth. We will be recognizing local teens as well as community champions for their civic engagement.

EJS Project – 2nd Annual Teen Career Combine

  • This event is an opportunity for our students to be put to the test on the workforce readiness skills they have learned. This event will culminate both physical and mental challenges (stations) as we will rank each team and individuals based off our scoring chart. We are excited to see our youth compete with and against each other in environment where everyone walks away a WINNER! We had a total of 40 students participate in this event last year.
